Preschool Class - News & Events

Miss Jinah and Miss Jane will be our Preschool teachers this year and they are busy working with the rest of the staff getting their classroom ready for the children. 

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 7 except for our new students.  As part of our gradual intake program new children will spend one hour in the Preschool class on his/her first day.  The teachers will add more time over the next few days until the child is comfortable with the full three hours.  We can only accomodate one to two new children per day so new students may not start at the beginning of the week of September 10th.  Miss Jinah will be calling all of our new Preschool families to set each child's gradual entry schedule.

Here are some things that students can bring to school with them on their first day:

• a plant to care for (non-poisonous - no ivy or poinsettias)
• inside shoes (none that leave black marks, need to be easy for you to put on yourself)
• a fruit or vegetable 2-3 times a week to share for snack
• change of clothes labeled with their name
• earthquake kit
• emergency card – completed
