Extended Day Class - News & Events

Our Kindergarten program is now called our Extended Day program as this program helps to bridge children from the half day Preschool program to our full day Elementary program.  Children begin the day with their peers, taking part in structured activities, and then move to the Preschool program where they have the opportunity to participate as leaders and role models for the younger children.  Spending time with their peers and with the younger children helps balance their growth and development at this stage. 

This year we will have four teachers working with our Extended Day children. Mrs. Lee and Ms. Anita will be the Extended Day teachers in the morning and Ms. Fiona will be the teacher in the afternoon.   Mrs. Lee will also be the music teacher.

Our first day of school will be September 4.  Extended Day children will attend only their afternoon Preschool class for the first week (12:15-3:15 p.m.). The full-day school will start on Monday, September 10.

Here are some things that students can bring to school on their first day:

• indoor shoes
• change of clothes in case of spills
• a toothbrush and toothpaste in a cup labeled with your child's name
• children can bring a plant for the everyone to enjoy in the classroom. (Please provide a drip catcher for the plant and label the pot with your child's name.)
